Jay Robert Watson, owner of The Portal Backrooms in Asheville, NC whose business was just kicked out of the building: PORTAL NEWS UPDATE! Please Read caption! Not trying to knock any company or claim my space was commandeered it was just speculation because I was not given any info. I’m just saying we can all fit and all do work this was totally unnecessary. Not even one conversation from building management to offer to relocate me to another unit in the building, raise rent or anything. I don’t know if they were being forced to remove me or not and by who. I only rent a small portion of this giant facility and planned to rent the big space for events when needed that was my plan moving forward. I did not own the space. I was just pointing out the irony of the whole situation. there are many vacant spaces I could have been moved to. I don’t know for sure who needs my space but I can only speculate from the obvious things in my face and talk amongst other volunteers. They did nothing illegal to me per our rental lease contract with a 30 day notice. But what could possibly be the reason? I was simply saying I was not worth saving in this situation it’s easier to eliminate vs. help. Either way it’s so low because after losing housing I now don’t have a place to work from to make money to then find housing. Basically left with nothing at all and I’m tired of being overlooked as a small one man business. If you were me what would you assume is happening here? Please understand speculation vs. facts.
