For the most part, if #Tux is going to be out on the balcony mid-day, he insists in laying down behind or under something that provides a lot of shade, like a bedsheet, towel or, in this case, a quilt. Unfortunately, this quilt was out drying because it just came out of the washer because he peed on it when it was folded-up at the foot of my bed.

This has only been the second time that he has done this since we moved here in mid-June. Fortunately what he peed on wasn't something that I couldnt easily throw in the washer. In the other case, it was a pile of clothes that I had taken out of the dryer earlier in the day that were laying in a pile on my bed, and none of the pee got through to the sheets, not to mention into the mattress.

For those of you that have been following #Tux''s story since the time that he got fixed, he came to stay with me after he got neutered while he was still an outdoor homeless cat. He couldn't stay because his peeing issue was happening every other day and at the time I felt that I had no other choice but to return him to his outdoor neighborhood where previously lived. However, since May when he got very sick, I felt like I absolutely had to bring him back inside and since then he only peed again once at the old place and now twice since we moved.

The likelihood of him peeing where he shouldn't seemed to increase when he got excited (as in while, or after, playing), and if there was a pile of something for him to pee in, or on - for example, a pile of clothes or packing paper, or on the sofa or bed.

As of now, I can't trust that he's in control of it, so I keep him out of the bedroom during the day and don't leave anything around on the floor (in any room) that might encourage him to dig into (as if it were a litter box) and pee.

I am really, really, really hoping that this problem doesn't get as bad as it was at the beginning of the year. The only hope is that it won't happen nearly as often because he also doesn't have the urinary problem that he had back then when he was drinking and peeing 4x as much as when his health is "more normal". Fingers crossed...
