When we last left off, we had walked Bob and his dogs and belongings down the broken river road to the point where cars could enter the neighborhood, and he rendezvoused and caught a ride back to his home in Florida with a friend.

While we were there, we ran into Bird and Marion’s dear friends Marshall and Molly, who agreed to loan us one of their vehicles until we were able to get our vehicles out.

I jumped in the car with Marshall to ride up to their house and see how they had fared through the storm.

WOW what a difference on the other side of the mountain!

We were able to borrow a car, and on the way back to Shope Creek, we ran into a man named Ryan Stone, right as he was loading up his Trackhoe from a long day’s work on the road. We convinced him to come back the next day and hired him to help us finish the road, so that we would be able to get in and out of our driveway once again.

WOW what a wonderful angel he has proven to be! There is hope, and miraculously, The Zen Dogs and I are suddenly on track to bust Shanti out of here in the near future.

Will we make it out of Asheville? Now that it is a real possibility, I am realizing that it is going to be really hard to leave (we don't want to break up our "Dream Team" with Marion and Bird and Ruby???). Stay tuned for Part 4!
