What was the placebo in the Rotarix (rotavirus) vaccine safety clinical trial?

Sound on. There was one Rotarix
"placebo"-controlled safety trial that was conducted prior to FDA approval. But what was actually in the placebo? Watch me track it down...

A placebo is supposed to be a substance that exerts no effect on the body. The National Academy of Medicine claims it's unethical to use placebo controls in childhood vaccine safety trials, because it's "unethical to not vaccinate" if an effective vaccine exists.

But what is their excuse when the manufacturers give the control group a "placebo" containing everything in the vaccine except for the antigen - the one thing that needs to be in the vaccine to provide the protective benefit?

There's no excuse. They're simply trying to increase adverse events in the control group so that they're similar to the adverse events from the experimental vaccine. Then they claim the new vaccine is safe while misleading people to believe they used a true placebo - and burying the truth.

No matter. All of the top vaccine manufacturers have been convicted of fraud (including fabricating research).

They could never, ever gain my trust. At this point, it doesn't matter if they actually did the proper clinical trials, I wouldn't believe it. (Looking at you, RSV vaccine manufacturers.)
