This latest video picks up on Sunday, September 29th - Day 3 post-apocalypse. We are still without power, cell/internet service or communication with the outside world. And we are still getting our bearings and realizing that we are trapped on the mountain for a while, as the one road in and out has become a river! We are grateful to have water and food and a generator (although the propane is limited).

In this episode, Mari, Bird, Marion and Bob and the dogs continue to assess our situation and venture out to talk with the neighbors. And on Day 4…big progress, as the first official search party comes looking for us, and we are finally able to provide “proof of life” to those who have been worrying about us. Thanks to Heath and Robert for making their way all the way from Franklin, NC and hiking in to find us!

On Day 5, two more search parties come looking, including Bird and Marion’s dear friends Sonna and Mark, and they show us the way to hike out to where cars can make it on our road. Bob and his dogs Augey, Chip and Champ secure a ride to Florida, and we help him ferry all of his stuff out to the car to make his escape.

And coming up in Part 3, which is the second half of Day 5, Sonna and Mark help us to commandeer a car, and we head over to the Other Side of the Mountain!
