On October 13, 2024, about one year after Israel's genocidal rampage in Gaza began, Dimitri Lascaris joined geopolitical commentator Laith Marouf for a stroll in the streets of central Beirut. They focused their excursion on Hamra, a religiously diverse neighbourhood.

As they walked down the bustling main road through Hamra, Lascaris and Marouf discussed the plight of the hundreds of thousands of Lebanese who have been displaced by Israel's indiscriminate bombing of south Lebanon and the Bekaa valley.

They also encountered security personnel of the pro-resistance Syria Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), who questioned Marouf and Lascaris about their reasons for filming in the streets of Hamra.

Finally, Marouf and Lascaris stopped at a memorial to Khaled Alwan, a young member of the SSNP who sparked a wave of Lebanese resistance against the Israeli Occupation in 1982.
