When I was a boy, the recruiters followed us everywhere. From school to even the local video game store. I exercised constantly to release my anger and so I was a prime candidate for the service. I go anywhere and there they would be with the dogtag machine ready for the young and naïve to take the leap, and many did.

There's always promises "It will make you a man, there will be glory, we will educate you, we will take care of you , it'll be fun, it's not all serious." Pride to numb and make us continue on with what's put in front of us.

We have been at war forever. Where is this mythical peace we fight for? Why does the sacrifice continue? Glory and pride have not delivered on the promises made. Recession, war, prosperity, repetition. Like a schizophrenic's grasp on reality shaking itself apart, it continues to rise and fall until it can't anymore.

The Aztecs believed that if they do not make sacrifices, the world will end. The gods demand blood in exchange for peace but only the fallen are at peace as more sacrifices must be gathered.

The Aztec culture is the most brutal in all of history and still parallels are easily drawn from them and many evaporated civilizations. We still haven't learned. It's always war for the sake of more. There will never be enough more.

I don't write this in existential crisis, or breakdown. I Just felt to say my peace. There's too much fury in us all. Everyone wants to be a god at the top of the pyramid.
