Saturday Studies Daniel 9 10-19-2024

Daniel chapter 9 reveals Daniel as a great man of prayer in addition to being a prophet of God. Daniel understands from Jeremiah's writing that the seventy years of captivity is up, and he begins to pray for the captives of Judah who are in Babylon. He includes himself in with the sinful Jews, even though none of his sins are ever recorded in Scripture.
At the end of his prayer, the angel Gabriel appears to him to give him understanding and the seventy-week prophecy.
This prophecy covers the Times of the Gentiles. It was all prophetic when Daniel received it, but much of it is now history.
