I just realized this today. If you look carefully at the first few frames of this video you will notice that PIN 21 on the PIC16F887 is NOT plugged in. PORTD dataline D2 sends out Note , Velocity and Program change DATA to the Commodore 64. I didn't catch this until today. I put that interface together more than a week ago. This would explain why there may have been some bad tuning between the C64 and the YM2149. The pin being unplugged would SUBTRACT 4 semitones from the C64 whenever the PIC had that pin SET. Anyway the next time (when this project is finally completed) I will make the video AFTER I solve the mixing impedance problem so that you can hear BOTH C64 and YM2149 sounds directly recorded (rather than with a microphone) I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I DIDN'T CATCH THIS EARLIER !!
