Repentance - 2

When Jesus went to the cross, he took on Himself all sin of every human being who had lived and would ever live. With His blood, the blood of the perfect sacrificial lamb, He then made provision for every sin to be washed away. If Jesus has already arranged for every sin to be forgiven, why is it that people still go to Hell for unforgiven sin? Why doesn’t everybody go to Heaven with their sins all washed away?

This teaching goes through scriptures about forgiveness looking for things that are necessary to forgiveness or are, at least, instrumental in the forgiveness process. Things investigated include repentance, confession, belief in Jesus as the Son of God, amendment of ways, contrition, water baptism, and even Spirit baptism.

Forgiveness is given to us as a grace, a free gift that we neither earn nor deserve. But, is there anything we need to do to receive that grace and have it applied to our spiritual accounts?
