The Bible, a timeless source of guidance, hope, and inspiration, has touched the lives of millions across the globe. Yet, within its verses and prophetic insights, certain topics may appear confusing, like the Abomination of Desolation mentioned in Matthew 24:15. Jesus says, "So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand." These words are directed to you and allude to a future event that will mark the beginning of the end times, which wonderfully marks the beginning of eternal life for those who accept the gift of salvation and the love of Christ.

Numerous biblical scholars have connected this prophecy to an event that transpired in 167 BC when Antiochus Epiphanes defiled the Jewish temple by authorizing the placement of an idol of Zeus in the temple, forbidding the people from offering sacrifices to the God of Israel. However, Matthew 24:15 points to the end times, specifically when the Antichrist will reign on earth. The Antichrist will deceptively masquerade as the messiah, leading people astray.
