the comments below are a small sampling of the nearly 500 comments that were posted on a link to the (entire) video that i had taken down (the doc was not posted by me).
the link was active for less than a year and had well over 100,000 views.
I am so happy to be able to watch this. I could thank you forever for uploading it. You've done a service to the people. Bless you
I went to fairfax high school in the early 90’s this is some epic shit.
these are historical artists....great title, great video....
Wow thanks for posting this, I've only ever really seen new York documentaries before. 1988 was such a great year for New York and LA in terms of who was making great art musically and visually.
Hip hop culture really brought people together, It's great to see such a different mixture of people getting together to do this. We maybe more connected these days with technology, but we are not together as much physically. You can see it from this footage.
Dope doc... Remember this on cable tv 1990
had a dubbed copy of this on vhs. the best.
"it's not really defacing. It's beautifying." He said it so poetically.
So much respect for every single one of these OGs! I don’t think most people have really understood how real/dangerous graffiti was in LA back then when gang violence was at a all time high. Going out bombing wasn’t just about worrying about the cops back then rather being seen by actual bangers and being mistaken as a gang member throwing up sets/claiming turf and possibly being shot at or stomped out was a very possible scenario that could happen on any street in any hood at any time day or night. A lot of today’s kids in the culture need to appreciate the old school cats for pathing the way for real
I see blacks and whites acting together this was in the late 80s early 90s what happened homes?!
