You need to buy tickets IN ADVANCE to do the Caminito Del Rey. There are self-guided and guided tickets. Self guided seems to sell out months in advance. I bought my ticket on the @expedia app, along with my flights from Vancouver and car rental.

It was so nice to have everything in one place and to earn double the points by just using the app ps. it's free!). If you're in the US, you'll earn OneKeyCash which you can use on future travel/purchases on Expedia, Vrbo OR Hotels.com-which I think is the coolest thing ever. Coming soon for Canadians🤞🏻

GETTING THERE & PARKING:

🚙It took us less than an hour to get there from Malaga. You can also take a bus or train.

⏰Arrive at least (!!) an hour before your time slot.

🅿️PI bought one parking pass for Visitor Center Receptions Parking and then took the shuttle bus up to Ardales and Kiosko restaurant where we started our walk to the starting point. There's also a parking lot named El Chorro, which I believe is free but it will take you longer to get to the hike starting point. I was pretty confused at the parking situation... but if you give yourself extra time you'll be a-ok.

THE HIKE:

🥾 You have to take a shuttle bus from the parking lots and then will need to walk to get to the start of the hike so be sure to get their early. There's a big sign at Ardales and Kiosko restaurant that will show you where to go. We walked along the road, through the tunnel and followed the pathway to the starting point.

💧Bring water and a snack.

🪵The stretch with the suspended walkways, is less than 3 kilometres long. The rest of the walk is in the mountains/forest.

💰You need cash to get a shuttle back to your car and food/drink at the end of the hike (if you want).
🌞Summer temperatures are super hot so be mindful of that. I suggest going in the spring or fall. I went in September and it was perfect!

🩷I booked a guided ticket but ended up going ahead of the group with my friends because I didn't like being too close to people especially with the heights.
