Washington SILENT as Israel ARRESTS & BEATS US journalist.

Right, so for as much as this channel was borne out of a desire to challenge mainstream media narratives and champion the excellent actual journalism being conducted by less well known alternative and independent media outlets, I hope encouraging people to expand their news intake beyond UK mainstream sources which are so often dross, it comes to something when such small independent outlets rise to prominence to the point they become targets and so for as much as we should laud their journalism, we need to defend them too, so they can continue to speak truth to power.
The bravest of these will certainly be those reporting on the Middle East, the bravest of all, will be those choosing to put themselves in what is proving to be significant danger, given how many journalists have lost their lives reporting from Gaza especially at the hands of the Israeli genocidal war machine. Journalism is not a crime unless you happen to be held at the hands of such an entity, and so it is the case for GrayZone journalist Jeremy Loffredo, arrested by Israel on the grounds of having endangered national security. A capital offence in Israel which can carry a maximum sentence of life imprisonment or even execution. His crime? Putting the facts out in a YouTube video. The response from his home nation the US to his arrents in Israel? Silence.
Right, so Jeremy Loffredo, GrayZone journalist, is one of 5 reported that have been detained by Israel, though have now been released however banned from leaving the country until the authorities have gone through his mobile phone, for the crime of doing some actual journalism and putting it out on YouTube.
Loffredo has been charged with aiding the enemy because he has reported on the actual damage caused to Israel by Iran during their missile strike last week, which Israel is still widely expected to ill-advisedly respond to, despite them having actually been the instigator of two attacks on Iranian soil and the Iranian responses both back in April and October of this year being retaliation by Iran due to that.
Loffredo has been in Israel reporting on the truth that Israel really doesn’t want the world to hear for a while. He has caused Israel headaches with his ongoing reporting on the blocking of humanitarian aid in to Gaza, notably the aid being blocked by Israeli settlers which Israel have refused to enforce international humanitarian law in regards to, but it is his reporting into the strike by Iran on Israel, in part due to their assassination of Hamas negotiator Ismail Haniyeh back in July in the Iranian capital of Tehran, a blatant attempt to screw up peace talks and ceasefire negotiations yet again by Israel, because they absolutely do not want this, but Loffredo’s report showed that despite Israeli claims, Iranian missiles did get past Israeli defences and missiles found their marks at the three designated military targets, - only military targets as was the case with Iran’s first strike in April – which found their marks in the at the Nevatim Air Base south of the West Bank, the Netzarim Corridor that Israel built across the middle of Gaza where Israeli tanks were targeted and in Tel Aviv where missiles struck near the headquarters of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency.
It is for telling the truth, exposing the fact that Israel’s world beating 99% effective whatever they choose to tell us by way of propaganda air defences are not as infallible as they claim and for this Loffredo and 4 others have been arrested for endangering national security. I don’t think they can claim to have done that even if they chose to, they weren’t the only ones to make it clear that some Iranian ordnance found it’s mark, plenty of video footage says as much, the only thing Loffredo made the mistake of doing is choosing to report the truth from within Israel itself where telling the truth is it seems the only crime they are guilty of, though that said, Israeli journalists who have the same thing, have not had the same treatment, so why would Israel dare dish it out to an American of all people, Israel’s greatest ally and supplier of arms and military aid they can’t carry on without? I’ll come back to that point in a moment.
But as is typical of reports of Israeli detention, it wasn’t just a case of being arrested was it, because abuse and violence goes hand in hand with that, as this excerpt from Skwawkbox details:
‘Investigative journalist Loffredo, who also exposed the blocking of humanitarian aid en route to Gaza by extremist Israeli settlers – with the collusion of the regime – has revealed that missiles from Iran’s retaliatory strike last week did indeed get through to strike Israeli military facilities and landed close to intelligence service Mossad’s headquarters.
Loffredo was blindfolded and badly beaten by Israeli forces and placed in detention. He was released on Friday afternoon after being detained for four days, but has reportedly been charged and forbidden to leave the country or travel within it. The information he uncovered has been reported by Israeli media, but no Israeli journalist has been charged. Nothing he revealed put any Israeli lives in danger.’
Yes, of course Israel beat him as well, you’re guilty of something and we’ll punish you a bit whilst you wait for your proper punishment.
Israel have basically been lying their weaselly black guts out regarding the impact the Iranian air strike had, that none of their missiles found their targets, it’s been nonsense for days, it’s been well established that Iran did some damage, though again it must be reiterated that it was only military targets, the Iranian regime, whatever you think of them, hasn’t stooped to targeting hospitals, schools, mosques, refugee camps, universities, churches, displacing people, now all happening in Lebanon as well. Hasn’t resorted to sniping people regardless of age in the street because these are all things and more that Israel absolutely have been doing and continue to do to universal condemnation amongst right thinking people the world over, if not by certain governments.
And by certain governments, Loffredo’s own, haven’t said a peep about his incarceration and the charges he now faces. Israel before their own people now, but it’s OK because he’s a journalist who actually does journalism and who needs those when loyal stenographers are all such politicians really want? An excerpt from The Cradle spells this out:
‘The US government has yet to comment on the case of Jeremy Loffredo, an independent US journalist who remains in Israeli police detention on suspicion of “endangering national security.” Loffredo may potentially face life imprisonment or the death penalty after reporting the locations where Iranian missiles struck in the attack launched by Iran earlier this month.
US officials refrained from commment despite a Yedioth Ahronoth report from Thursday stating that representatives from the US Embassy attended the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court for a hearing on the request of the police to extend his detention.
In his report, Loffredo stated that the strikes hit targets, including the Israeli military's Nevatim Air Base and an intelligence base in central Israel.
“Since the missile strikes, Israeli authorities have attempted to downplay the significance of the attacks, censored the locations of missile impacts from media publication, and claimed that Iranian missiles targeted Israeli civilians,” Loffredo stated.
“What I saw today, here in Israel, is clear evidence that Iran was targeting the same Israeli intelligence and military infrastructure that has been used over the past year to carry out brutal assassinations and attacks.”’
It is pitiful and inexcusable the US administration has said nothing on this case at all, because not only does that give Israel the green light to target more Americans, but seemingly does so with US assent.
Now Loffredo works for The GrayZone and GrayZone contributor, the British investigative journalist Kit Klarenberg has pointed out the ominous and precarious position Loffredo is in, not just because he stands accused of aiding the enemy during wartime, which as aforementioned is a capital offence carrying with it the maximum possible sentences that implies, but also how prepared the quite mad Israeli administration are to go there.
As this channel covered in a video not so long ago, one of Benjamin Netanyahu’s fellow Likud Party Members of the Knesset Tally Gotliv, demanded those same maximum sentences, life imprisonment or the death sentence for B’Tselem executive director Yuli Novak for addressing the United Nations on the facts on the ground as regard the human rights abuses being committed by Israel in Gaza, B’Tselem being an Israeli human rights organisation that documents Israeli atrocities perpetrated against Palestinians, so if they are actually demanding their own countrymen and women face maximum imprisonment or worse for telling the truth and revealing the facts to the world at large, why would they not do so to an American?
Obviously, the US is in theory in a position to tell Israel to back off, to back their citizen, but equally the Israel Lobby and their money also speaks loudly, loudly it seems to cow Washington into ongoing silence on the matter instead. Just who exactly is in charge there? Should an Israeli flag be flying from the top of the White House as the latest example of territory Israel has claimed for itself in which case? I want to see a spine being shown by the US administration for one of their own people who’s only crime was telling the truth. Instead they’re all acting like a shiver looking for a spine it seems.
