Barack Obama speaking at Kamala Harris field office in Pittsburgh PA on October 10

Peak behind the scenes at an unannounced visit to a Harris campaign field office in Pittsburgh by Barack Obama - just hours before he appeared a campaign rally for Kamala Harris. Obama said he was there to “speak some truths” to Black men specifically in a way that struck many as disingenuous.

The techniques he uses in this interaction mirrors those used by the CIA when trying to convert assets. In this video, we share key moments in Obama's speech, alongside explanations of the techniques by an ex-CIA agent. The video of Obama is hard to watch at times and you can tell that he himself isn't comfortable with the job at-hand, as evident by shameful micro expressions (looking down quickly). He nonetheless proceeds and delivers the good for the DNC but, even though he is preaching to the converted (an office full of Kamala supporters employed by the campaign who presumably are going to vote for her), the vibe is clearly off. Ironically, even though Obama's mission is clearly to shame black men into voting for Kamala, personal opinions be damned, a different kind of shame is shared by him and those caught by the camera as the audience is asked to fall in line.

“My understanding, based on reports I’m getting from campaigns and communities, is that we have not yet seen the same kinds of energy and turnout in all quarters of our neighborhoods and communities as we saw when I was running,” Obama said, adding that it “seems to be more pronounced with the brothers.”

This staged event, where only the black men who worked in the campaign field office were allowed to be in view of the camera, was quoted from in many articles a day or two before they surfaced the video - perhaps uncertain about how it would play. Now that it is out they surely wish it was never shared.

Kamala Harris by most polls is now behind in all swing states. This appears to be the latest in a series of last ditch efforts to restore her chances but once again it seems to have exposed the campaign, which started under questionable circumstances, to further scrutiny for its ethics.
