Authorities have identified body parts found in a freezer at a Colorado home as belonging to Amanda Leariel Overstreet, a 16-year-old girl who went missing in 2005.

The investigation into her death is being treated as a homicide.

The remains were discovered in January when the new owner of the home, near Grand Junction, gave away a freezer left by the previous occupant.

Inside, they found a human head and forearms. Overstreet, who had not been reported missing, lived in the Grand Junction and Harris County, Texas areas, The Guardian has reported.
