From the Creator:

In the morning rush our of the 12 December 1988, a crowded passenger train crashed into the rear of another train outside Clapham Junction railway station in London, and subsequently sideswiped an empty train travelling in the opposite direction. The disaster claimed 35 lives, with 484 injured.

The collision was caused by a signal failure due to wiring fault. New wiring had been installed, but the old wiring had been left still connected on one end and not adequately isolated on the other.

The horror of the disaster is fascinating, as the event was completely avoidable and rewrote health and safety law in the UK.
