Pacific414 Pop Talk Watch Party Double Feature: Mel Brooks Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety

Today on Pacific414 Pop Talk for Sunday October 13, 2024 we will have a Mel Brooks double feature watch party as we watch two classic Mel Brooks comedies!

The first of our two movies we will be viewing is Young Frankenstein (1974) starring Gene Wilder, Peter Boyle, Terri Garr, Marty Feldman, Madeline Kahn, Cloris Leachman with an appearance by Gene Hackman.

Young Frankenstein (1974) a story written by Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks while the directing duties went to Mel Brooks, tells the comedic story of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein who is a medical physician lecturing at a university who is contacted to recreate his grandfathers work of the Frankenstein monster. Based upon Mary Shelly's Frankenstein.

The next film of our double feature is Mel Brooks satirical take on the works of film maker Alfred Hitchcock with High Anxiety (1977)

This satirical comedy romp stars Madeline Kahn and Cloris Leachman from Young Frankenstein while also featuring Harvey Korman, Dick Van Patton, Ron Carey and Howard Morris with writing and directing credits going to Mel Brooks who also stars in the film co-written by Ron Clark, Rudy De Luca and Berry Levinson.
