Mad Monster Party 1967 Vintage Cinema Review - Old Man Orange Podcast 613

I am joined once again with my good pal and comic creator, Jack Foster to talk all about the classic 1967 stop motion animated flick, Mad Monster Party? And yes, that title ends in a question mark to leave us all hanging as to truly what that is supposed to mean. This film comes from the studio of Rankin Bass who generally everyone knows of their Christmas gems. Frosty the Snowman, Little Drummer Boy, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, and Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer to name a few. Plus, other great classic animated films over the years too like The Last Unicorn, The Hobbit, and the time they tried a 90s Disney style cartoon with, The King and I.

With Mad Monster Party they go full Halloween, pulling out a plethora of classic monster characters like Dracula, The Frankenstein Monster, Wolfman, and quite a bit more. A big party is thrown, everyone is invited, and there's all kinds of swinging 60's bebop tunes being played. The film does have some goofy ness overall and it might fair a little bit better at a shorter run time. But it still is something special everyone should see if you are into classic stop motion animation and those Universal Monsters.

So, come on by and join us on another adventure of OMO Podcast.
