Home Made BLDC Motor with Arduino Sort Of

This primitive BLDC motor has only two coils and no feedback at all.

It works by periodically reversing the polarities of the two coils.

It would probably work better with four coils on two channels but it is pleasant to watch and see working as well as it does.

The magnets are small Neo magnets from the hardware store mounted on a large sewing needle with the point in a Phillips head screw and the top through a plastic bead.

It works really well for a short time then it seems the L298n motor controller gets a little flaky. Also a fresh battery would have made it a little more reliable. It uses a 9 volt battery to drive the Arduino, the controller and the coils.

Stay tuned:)
