Is it Possible to Make a 1mm Diameter Pinion on a Vintage Watchmaker's Lathe?

In this video I use a mid-century W12 watchmaker's lathe, plus an even older Boley watchmaker's lathe, to try to copy a tiny "modern" pinion. This was more of a tolerance test than anything because I thought it would be impossible with the tools and cutters I'm currently working with. I was right, but it's also clear to me that it should be possible with a dedicated gear cutter.
