On 6/26/23, we hit the trail via the classic Denny Creek route, just 12 miles west of Buena Vista—an easy access point that leads to an epic climb. This 10.1-mile journey took us 8 hours and 33 minutes, with a heart-pounding elevation gain of 4,300 feet. As we ascended, we were treated to incredible views of the Colorado Rockies, and the thrill of spotting Bighorn Sheep above the treeline was unforgettable. The final push to the summit featured exhilarating rock scrambles, testing our grit and determination. This was our 24th 14er conquest on our quest to summit all 58, and it was an adventure filled with awe-inspiring moments and unmatched mountain beauty.
