In Episode #82 of the bird garden series, we capture a flock of Canadian geese that were migrating south and decided to take a rest. Canadian geese are known for their annual migration, which occurs in the fall and spring. During migration, they travel in V-shaped formations, called skeins, to conserve energy. They use a variety of cues, such as celestial and magnetic signals, to navigate. They can travel up to 1,500 miles in a single day during migration.
