Catching my FIRST Yellowfin Tuna | Venice, Louisiana | Live Bait | Removing Fishing Hook from Hand

Today, we are fishing out of the famous Venice Louisiana for Yellowfin Tuna (or Ahi Tuna as some call them)! This is the same area where episodes of the fishing show "Bloodlines" was recently filmed. After making the 25 mile run out the inlet and catching thornbellies for bait, we head about 76 miles out into the bluewater to some oil rigs. We start drifting these live baits and throwing out live chum to bring the Tuna to our baits.

While catching a skipjack on a top water plug though my Dad gets a hook in his hand while trying to remove the lure. We also show you what you have to do sometimes to remove hooks and keep on fishing when your about 100 miles from help!

In this series we have two fishing days in Louisiana planned as well as videos on what to bring on a trip like this, lessons learned, and how to pick a charter boat so subscribe to get notifications when the rest of the videos come out!
