While visiting family, Abed Hassan became trapped in Gaza, unable to leave. For weeks, he endured the Israeli response to the October 7 terror attacks and finally managed to leave, thanks to his German citizenship. Now, back in Berlin, he uses social media to raise awareness of the horrific situation in Gaza. The Hamas-controlled health authority there says nearly 42,000 people have been killed since the beginning of the war. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists his forces will achieve victory over Hamas, which carried out the October 7 terror attacks.
