How to See God's Compassion in His Sovereignty

Understanding the balance between God’s sovereignty and human free will is a profound mystery. Scripture affirms both: God is in complete control of the universe, yet He allows us to make real, responsible choices. This balance can be challenging to grasp, but it’s key to understanding our relationship with God.

First, God has an infinite perspective. Unlike us, who see only a tiny part of the picture, God sees the beginning from the end. Isaiah 46:10 tells us that He declares the end from the beginning. His wisdom is rooted in a complete understanding of time, space, and everything in between.
