Israel Military Sends More Troops to Fight Hezbollah In Lebanon's Beirut

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Lebanon on October 8 that it could face destruction "like Gaza". This as Israel ramped up its ground offensive against Hezbollah along the southern coast of Lebanon. Netanyahu's warning came as the Israeli military deployed more troops and urged civilians in coastal areas to evacuate. In its latest series of strikes, Israel caused "massive destruction" and razed four buildings in southern Beirut, and hit the main road at Al-Kafaat. Earlier, Hezbollah claimed it fired rockets at the Israeli port city of Haifa and threatened more rocket fire on Israeli towns and cities if the bombing continued in Lebanon. Meanwhile, Hezbollah's deputy chief, Naim Qassem, expressed support for the ceasefire efforts in Lebanon.
