It wasn't that long ago that Ireland was a War Zone of Irish Militia's trying to crush British rule, and British Military forces trying to stop them. Although the violence has largely ceased, places like Belfast in Northern Ireland (currently British territory) are still technically at war with IRA forces and a very tense area to travel to this day. Murals of fighters cover buildings, entire neighborhoods have large gates around them that can be closed to protect the residents in the event of an uprising, and outsiders are not welcome.
