Informal: yup.
As the owner I choose to de energise the dog I have in front of me. You'll hear sound from me and the dog pays little mind in her state of energy. pretty normal.
once de energised and de excited: as she's in an excited state going for a walk, I can then work with her alot better.
The calm state has been achieved: no pulling, no tune out.
My advice to people is please remember when you start taking your dog for a walk and he/ she is pulling they are in an excited frame of mind, they will pull and won't listen: it's normal. let them de energise, let them sniff.
I use the 6 meter lead for a reason
