"Sounds like you're screwed." Ahaha yeah you tell him. Good Deed Entertainment has revealed the official trailer for an indie film titled Hangdog, shot in Maine and set in Maine. This first premiered last year at a bunch of regional film festivals and it will be getting a VOD release in October for anyone who wants to watch. An anxiety-ridden 30-something named Walt embarks on a desperate quest through Portland, Maine to retrieve his stolen dog before his girlfriend returns from a trip – or risk losing them both. Husband & wife filmmakers "Matt and Jen have crafted a charming and engaging grown-up film in Hangdog, and it’s our pleasure to be a part of bringing this crowdpleaser to audiences nationwide this October." Starring Desmin Borges as Walt, Kelly O'Sullivan, Barbara Rosenblat, Steve Coulter, and Catherine Curtin. This looks like an amusing, light, and mostly enjoyable indie comedy giving us a fresh look at this town in Maine.
Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Matt Cascella's film Hangdog, direct from GDE's YouTube:
Hangdog Poster
Anxiety-ridden Walt (Desmin Borges) embarks on a desperate quest through Portland, Maine to retrieve his stolen dog, Tony, before his girlfriend, the more straight-laced Wendy, returns from a crucial business trip, or risk losing them both. Walt’s search is a journey as idiosyncratic and detoured as Portland itself and Walt himself, whose forlorn face more befits the “hangdog” name than the dog’s ever could. Hangdog is directed by American indie filmmaker Matt Cascella, making his feature directorial debut after a bunch of other short films previously. The screenplay written by Jen Cordery, from a story by Matt Cascella. It's produced by Desmin Borges, Matt Cascella, Jen Cordery, Alyssa Roehrenbeck, & Patrick White. This initially premiered at the 2023 Provincetown Film Festival last year. Good Deed Ent. will debut Cascella's Hangdog film in select US theaters + on VOD starting on October 25th, 2024 this fall. Anyone want to watch this?

Anxiety-riddled Walt embarks on a comic odyssey through Portland, Maine to retrieve his stolen dog before his girlfriend, Wendy, returns from her business trip, or risk losing them both. Along the way, his encounters with eccentric locals Marianne and Brent force him to confront his insecurities and embrace human connection.
A deadpan comedy about what a guy will go through to recover his significant other’s dog.
Desmin Borges has the title role, with Kelly Sullivan as She Whose Dog Must Be Found before she returns from a trip.
A husband and wife director/writer team cooked this existential crisis comedy up. Whattaya wanna bet that they lived through it?
