Welcome to DriveDon't Dread!! In this video we will talk about the importance and significance of Pavement Markings :) Pavement markings are essential road signs that provide guidance and information to drivers and pedestrians. They convey rules, lane assignments, and warnings, supplementing traffic signs and signals. Understanding these markings is crucial for safe driving. Here’s a breakdown of the most common pavement markings:
1. Lane Dividers

White Lines:
Broken white lines: Separate lanes of traffic moving in the same direction. You may cross these lines to change lanes, but only if it's safe.
Solid white lines: Indicate the edge of the road or lanes where lane changes are discouraged or prohibited, especially when near intersections, crosswalks, or other areas.
Double solid white lines: Lane changes are prohibited.

Yellow Lines:
Single broken yellow line: Separates two-way traffic. You may pass if the oncoming lane is clear.
Single solid yellow line: Indicates no passing zones. Traffic is moving in opposite directions.
Double solid yellow lines: Passing is not allowed from either direction. Typically used on roads with two-way traffic.
One solid, one broken yellow line: If the broken line is on your side, you may pass when safe. If the solid line is on your side, passing is prohibited.
