It’s human nature to seek approval. We often mold ourselves to meet the expectations of others – friends, family, colleagues – just to feel accepted. But what happens when that approval never comes, or worse, when it leaves you feeling empty?

I used to be there for years – giving more of myself even when I felt unappreciated, saying yes when I was already stretched thin, being a people pleaser, and constantly trying to fit in. I thought it would finally make me feel whole. But instead, it left me feeling anxious, unappreciated, and burnt out.

So why do we do that? Why are we so quick to become what others want and lose touch with who we really are?

It’s because many of us are still carrying the wounds of childhood trauma. We were told to be quiet, to follow the rules, and that our worth had to come from outside sources – whether that was from family, school, or friends.

So we continue seeking that approval as adults, unaware that we’re still acting out of old patterns of rejection and abandonment.

In this episode, I’m sharing how I stopped seeking validation from others and started healing myself. I talk about unlearning toxic patterns and breaking free from the need to be accepted by everyone.
