"We believe we have a limited time that we're in the final leg of the race to keep the 1.5 limit alive. I think what is clear, there's been a huge wake-up call around the world, and there are many countries that would like to take climate action, would like to transition, and are missing the essential piece, which is affordable finance.
There are many countries who had nothing to do with climate change, who are facing even some of the small island developing countries, the risk that their countries might disappear. So there is also an urgent need to invest in mitigation and adaptation while we're transitioning. So these things are, the awareness is there. The motivation and the willingness to invest needs more work. We need, and it's very clear that no country can solve this in isolation. It doesn't matter how much money you have, you're not going to be isolated, you're going to be affected by climate change. So what the United Nations is doing is working to build these alliances, to build trust, to find solutions to inspire the cooperation and the financial investment that is so needed."
