The Feast of Unleavened Bread is the second of three early Spring Feasts and comes right on the heels of Passover. They are so closely related that the two cover a total of eight straight days. Just as Jesus fulfilled the Spiritual significance of Passover, He also fulfilled the Spiritual significance of Unleavened Bread.
Unleavened bread is the first of the "pilgrim" feasts, meaning that all Jewish men are to present themselves before the Lord at the temple in Jerusalem. Therefore, most people would come to Jerusalem to be there and take part in both Passover and Unleavened Bread.
Unleavened Bread began with the Exodus from Egypt, just like Passover did.
We discuss how just as leaven was strictly forbidden in the bread and even in the houses during this Feast, so Jesus had no leaven (sin) in His life. Jesus was crucified on Passover, and He was buried on Unleavened Bread. Just as unleavened bread is not decayed from leaven, neither was Jesus decayed from sin.
We also compare what Paul taught about leaven and keeping the Feast with unleavened bread, we compare leaven as an inhibitor to a close fellowship with the Lord. We then share John the Apostles words from 1st John chapter one with staying in close fellowship with the Lord.
The passages we cover are:
Exodus 12:14-20
Leviticus 23:4-8
Genesis 3:19
1st Corinthians 5:6-8
John 13:2-10
1st John 1:5-10
