Mali Mai Overture (complete)
Mali Mai in Wayuunaiki means "woman's heart." It is an affectionate term used to refer to a beloved or cherished woman.
This name, full of tenderness and affection, reflects the importance of women in the Wayuu culture.
This is the Mali Mai Overture that I composed for the visual animation of the @cbaateneo backdrop, the great wayuu tapestry created by Luis Montiel. The idea of the General Director of the Ateneo @lilianademontero was to create a modern version of the light and music presentation that existed in the tapestry. I composed the music using only wayuu instruments, piano and some synthesizer as background. I asked the creative Marlon Medina @der_mod to create the mapping, the visuals that further revive the tapestry and seem to tell the story of its creation.
