Light Switch Parable - Faith AND Works

Are we saved by works, or by grace?
It takes a small amount of work to turn a light switch on. The power available in the wires is much greater than the effort it takes to flip the switch, but without the effort to flip the switch, the light will always remain off.
It is the combination of our small efforts to do what the Lord asks of us, coupled with His infinite power, that brings His saving light and grace into our lives.

I am NOT suggesting that being saved is as easy as flipping a light switch.
The analogy is that the saving power of God's infinite grace is accessible to us on the condition that we do the things He asks us to do.
