The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is a Catholic liturgical feast celebrated on October 7th:

The feast commemorates the victory of the Holy League over the Ottoman navy in the Battle of Lepanto on October 7, 1571. The victory was a turning point in European and Christian history The feast was established by Pope St. Pius V in 1571 as the Feast of Our Lady of Victory. In 1573, Pope Gregory XIII changed the name to the Feast of the Holy Rosary. In 1716, Pope Clement XI extended the feast to the universal Church. In 1913, Saint Pius X set the date to October 7.

“Turkish victory at Lepanto would have been a catastrophe of the first magnitude for Christendom,” wrote military historian John F. Guilmartin, Jr., “and Europe would have followed a historical trajectory strikingly different from that which obtained.”
