Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Manifesting the Gifts of the Spirit

Rom 1:11-12 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established -- 12 that is, that I may be encouraged together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me.

1 Cor 12:11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.
Paul’s desire is to impart (convey or grant) spiritual gifts to believers in Rome to establish (to make permanent) them. It is through the Holy Spirit that the gifts are given. Paul is just a vessel for the Holy Spirit.

*Gift; Greek, #5486, charisma, a gift of grace (charis), a free gift, divine gratuity, spiritual endowment, miraculous faculty. It is especially used to designate the gifts of the Spirit. In modern usage, a “charismatic” signifies one who either has one or more of these gifts functioning in his life, or who believes these gifts are for today’s church. *Word Wealth Spirit Filled Life Bible

1 Cor 12:7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

1 Cor 12:1-2 Now concerning spiritual gifts brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. Today, New-agers are being carried away by idols.

2011 June 1 Wednesday night we broke ground! Shovels left standing around the foundation as a prophetic gesture of our children building on our foundation. Little did we know at the time, but the shovels were symbolic of the Mal 4:4 prophecy, turning the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers.

1 Tim 4:14-15 Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership.

2 Tim 1:5-7 Therefore I remind you to stir up *(make hot) the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. *emphasis added

1 Peter 4:9-11 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

The Greatest Gift of All!
Eph 2:7-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
