In spiritual warfare, the mind can often be clouded by iniquity, likened to a wisdom born of darkness. To resist this, it is crucial to remain in the Spirit, where the pull of the flesh loses its power. Intercession plays a significant role in this battle. Just as a high priest intercedes for Judah, standing before God until revelation comes, believers are called to intercede for others until they receive clarity on God’s direction for them in the present season.

This process of intercession extends to loved ones and children. Even those who struggle with deep-rooted issues, like the example of a child inclined to kleptomania, can be transformed through prayer. Prophetic words can shift destinies, turning what seems like an unchangeable nature into a flourishing life that reflects God’s purposes. This transformation mirrors the journey of the patriarchs, such as Abraham and Isaac, who passed the promises of God to their descendants. In the same way, believers can call forth God’s promises for their own households.

However, transformation requires struggle, much like Jacob’s wrestling with God. Jacob carried the promise of Israel but had to wrestle with his old nature until he finally cried out for help. Believers, too, may wrestle with parts of themselves that resist change. It is only through this struggle that the old nature can be destroyed, and the new identity can emerge. This is a process of surrender, where the believer must let go of the past to step into the new identity God has called them to.

In this season, believers are invited to labor in prayer, not just for themselves but also for their families and communities. Negative traits—such as trauma, bitterness, and unforgiveness—can prevent God’s promises from manifesting. These traits must be broken off through intercession. Believers, like Abraham, must command their households to walk in righteousness and actively participate in the process of transformation through prayer.

Finally, it’s essential to declare the prophecies and promises of God over loved ones. By worshiping, praying, and interceding, believers can invite the revelation of God’s will for their children and families. As they press into these prayers, more of God’s heart will be revealed, and the burden to see His plans come to pass will grow. The goal is not simply to pray but to call forth the “acceptable year of the Lord” for each loved one, bringing His purposes into full view.
