Saving Aziz - Life of an Afghan Combat Interpreter: Surviving War, Taliban Threats, & More | TRS 023

Today on The Resilient Show, Chad Robichaux sits down with Azizullah Aziz. He is an Afghanistan native that served the US for 16 years as a Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) combat Interpreter, facilitator, and cultural advisor. He served side-by-side with Chad on all eight of his JSOC deployments in Afghanistan.

He discusses his harrowing journey to save his family from the Taliban's resurgence, a journey that became part of the largest civilian evacuation in U.S. history. Aziz reflects on the dire situation in Afghanistan, where women and girls face severe oppression under Taliban rule, and how the international community has largely abandoned them. Now living in the U.S., Aziz talks about the freedoms he cherishes that many Americans might take for granted.
