Sounds kind of silly doesn’t it? I mean our birthday is on the day we were born, naturally. So for me that would be September 30th each year. I mean it would be impossible to have been born on two different days during the year. Right? Naturally!

During the time Jesus was traveling across Israel and Samaria, a very smart, highly educated in the Jewish Religious Law, Religious Leader snuck out to speak to Jesus at night. See, He did not want his friends to know what he was doing. Nicodemus was afraid of peer pressure and bullying that would come from the other Religious Leaders for seeking to learn about this Teacher that many were saying was the Messiah. He asked Jesus how to be saved. And received what for him was a very confusing answer.

Jesus said that Nicodemus must be born again in order to enter Heaven. In other words, unless this man had two birthdays he would never enter Heaven and come into the Presence of God. The same is still true today. Do you have two birthdays? If not, you will never enter Heaven and be in the Presence of a Holy God. It is that simple. Yes, that statement confused Nicodemus and may be confusing to you. So, let’s look at how Jesus explained what He was talking about.
