Israel launched fresh airstrikes on southern Beirut. According to Lebanon’s state-run media, 30 Israeli strikes hit the country overnight. Israeli warplanes reportedly struck Saint Therese and Burj al-Barajneh areas in the southern suburbs. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that it attacked Hezbollah targets near Beirut, including a weapons storage facility. The strikes lit up Beirut’s night sky on the eve of October 7, which marks one year of Hamas’ attack on Israel. The Israeli military also released the video of its purported strikes in southern Lebanon. On October 6, the IDF ordered evacuations in Burj al-Barajneh and Hadath areas. Israel has intensified its airstrikes, along with its ground offensive, on Lebanon since September 23. Meanwhile, Hezbollah continues to fire rockets at Israel. The Israeli military said around 130 projectiles were fired from Lebanon. The strikes triggered air raid sirens in Israel’s port city of Haifa.
