In this episode, we discuss the Montanist martyr Perpetua, her vision of her brother, and the misuse of her vision to try to bolster Purgatory. In the process, we will utilize the form of an argument that Augustine used against one erroneous use of Perpetua to oppose an argument that Augustine was never faced with.

In this response, we will refer to Brian E. Daley's "The Hope of the Early Church," especially p. 37, and Joseph (later Benedict XVI) Ratzinger's "Eschatology: Death and Eternal Life," especially pp. 222-23.

We will also refer to large chunks of "The Passion of Perptua and Felicitas in Late Antiquity," by L. Stephanie Cobb.

We will also mention a debate between TurretinFan and William Albrecht on Purgatory and an Aftershow program by William Albrecht from his channel, Patristic Pillars.
