A Pilot was threatened by the Sheriff for rescuing operation

An excellent account of what happened to one couple who became stranded. Watch this report.

After days of being stranded, a private pilot saw one couple's SOS and landed, rescuing the wife first and taking her a short distance to safety. Local government bureaucrats then threatened the pilot with arrest if he went back to pick up her husband and the pilot's sone and fly them just three minutes to safety. Instead, the resident was abandoned and had to go hike to find help himself. He eventually found a volunteer rescue team (from Michigan - not local govt) and was dragged by rope across a raging river filled with debris. Only then was he reunited with his wife. Unbelievable.
