The Story of Arcanum

An epic journey through the fantastical world of Arcanum, where magick and technology are opposing forces and society is undergoing an industrial revolution.

Our protagonist today is Malthus Stonebuster, a Dwarf quite fond of ale who finds himself wrapped up in a strange series of events far beyond his control.

This video brings the main events of Arcanum's story together in a (somewhat) compact package, while adding 30+ voiced characters, story narration, and storybook sequences to explore Arcanum's mysteries.

Arcanum is a deep and rich RPG with worldbuilding unmatched even in today's role-playing games. There is no definitive story of Arcanum; instead it crafts a dynamic, living world that reacts to the unique character that you've built. The story YOU tell in Arcanum may be quite different, and large side plots and locations have been excluded from this video for the sake of concision.

Released by Sierra, created by Troika Games in 2001, Arcanum is a product of the original creators of Fallout (1997): Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky, and Jason Anderson, and is widely considered one of the greatest CRPGs ever made.
