Pacific jellyfish Rhopilema esculentum in Primorye
The Rhopilema esculentum jellyfish, known for its gigantic size and reaching up to 70 cm in diameter and weighing up to 30 kg, lives in warm waters off the coast of Japan, the Yellow, East China and South China Seas. These jellyfish migrate to southern Primorye, carried by currents, and their numbers vary depending on wind speed. Observations of these jellyfish are possible from August to October, when they gather for spawning, after which they naturally die in the fall.
