Stay In God's Lane – Deut. Chpt. 13

We have a saying in modern English that says, 'stay in your lane'. We use it as a way of telling people to either mind their own business or not get involved in something they know nothing about. Example: if you are telling me how to cook when you can't even boil water, I might tell you to stay in your lane.

When it comes to spiritual matters, it's not our own lanes we should be staying in. God's lane is the lane for us. Scripture says, "...strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it." (Matt 7:14)

One of our biggest challenges as Christians is that our three enemies – the flesh, the world, and the devil – are always trying to get us out of God's lane. They are always trying to get us off the straight and narrow path. God warns Israel of this very same thing in Deuteronomy 13. He warns them to take it seriously.
