Am I The Only One Going Insane?

Is anyone else going insane?
Or is it just me?

Something is broken.
Something seems wrong.

Can’t put my finger on it.
Can’t put it to song.

I don’t know if this makes sense to you,
Well, I’m guessing it won’t.

Cause when I try to put to words,
All I get is blank looks.

Tell me, why should I be excited
lockin myself into a job?

You say there’s great benefits,
But one thing don’t make sense

Tell me what’s the point of dental,
When I need time off for it, they call me mental.

Why am I giving them money,
Just for them to say sorry hunny.

You’ve gotta earn that time.
Give it a few more years.

Prove your dedication
Through a daily dose of tears.

It’s okay to lose your soul,
It’s not worth much anyway..

Now I live for the weekends,
But when they come I lay tortured.

Frozen in fear,
I’ve become indentured

What are we doing? This is life?

Where is the meaning?
This ain’t quite right.

I swear I will scream
At the next person who tells me

Just bloom where you’re planted.
You needa be more contented.

Can’t get ahead.
Can’t ever catch up.

They’ve got me right where they want me.
Trapped in their glass cup.

I can see through it.
See the freedom, the beauty.

But it’s a cruel joke, that landscape,
That dreamin, that torment.

To catch a glimpse,
So close but so far.

It’s there to remind me,
How far off we all are.
