At least 70 people killed in gang attack on Haitian town: UN

At least 70 people were killed and 3,000 displaced when the Gran Grif gang attacked the town of Pont-Sonde in central Haiti.

Armed with automatic rifles, gang members shot at the population, set fire to 45 homes and 34 cars, and left 16 people seriously injured.

The UN condemned the attack, describing it as “horrifying,” while Haitian Prime Minister Garry Conille vowed to resist the terror, Al-Jazeera has reported.
