Our need for social approval is deeply ingrained in our DNA. As a tribal species, we rely on the support and acceptance of our community for survival. Our giant brains evolved to outsource our survival to others, especially when it comes to raising our slow-developing children. Without the approval of our tribe, we risk being ostracized and left to fend for ourselves in the wilderness.
